When Angelina Jolie enters a room, one has to stop for a second to mentally get your head around the fact that an international icon is sitting two feet away. That being said, there are few celebrities that we have spoken with who had more of an air of ease about them — one that was equally comforting and compelling.
Salt is the thriller of the summer! As directed by Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), the spy movie gets a shot in the arm and much of the credit lies on the shoulders of Angelina Jolie.

Noyce first worked with Angelina Jolie on The Bone Collector a decade ago and reported that whereas before, “I was the teacher and she was the student.” Now, “Angie had much to teach me.”

The UN delegates comprising Hollywood star actress Angelina Jolie, her manager Jeffery Sachs, John McArthur and other high profile personalities have been spotted in town, the GhanaCelebrities.com reports.

They are in town to attend a private event which has been put together by UBI and UNDP in a secret location in town. The event is strictly by invitation. Proceeds from the event is will be use to cater for underprivileged villages in Ghana. But why would anybody want to mark such a commendable event on the quiet ?

It is so intriguing that, even though Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Kenny G command a lot of respect and have huge fan-base in Ghana, their presence in the country is under low publicity. It is unfortunate that the organizers did not take advantage of their stardom to boost up this event.

After the ‘secret’ event the delegation will attend the ‘Kenny G Concert’ on Saturday, 17th July 2010, at the African Regent Hotel.The concert is open to everybody to catch a glimpse of the Legendary Grammy award winner, who has sold 75 million records worldwide.

There are a few small, healing nicks on the back of Angelina Jolie’s otherwise smooth, delicate hand — the kind of things a busy mom always seems to have.

It’s the only noticeable flaw on the legendary beauty and likely something Jolie, 35, wouldn’t mind at all. She makes it clear as she talks to reporters in a luxury hotel in Washington’s Georgetown neighbourhood about her upcoming movie, Salt, that she cares most about her family, notably the six children she’s raising with partner Brad Pitt.

Jolie and the cast of Salt spent last weekend promoting the D.C.-set spy thriller about female CIA agent Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a Russian spy and must prove her innocence while she’s on the run from the Central Intelligence Agency. The film opens July 23. (more…)

Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s love affair will be chronicled in a new film and several A-list names are being mentioned to play the iconic couple.

Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones have expressed interest in playing the Dame, while Russell Crowe, Clive Owen and Colin Farrell have eyed playing Burton. Mike Nichols has expressed interest in directing. All the major studios would love to be a part of this film.

The film will be based on the book, Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and the Marriage of the Century, written by husband and wife team Sam Kashner and Nancy Schoenberger, which chronicles Taylor and Burton’s legendary tale of love, divorce and remarriage.

Taylor herself gave access to never-before-seen materials to the duo during their book research, including Burton’s love letters to her. They were also given an unpublished first draft of Taylor’s 1965 autobiography, plus a portfolio of the screen icon’s favorite personal photographs, which are reproduced in the book. The dame also allowed interview questions about her and Burton’s long love affair, during which she commented on how he was the great love of her life, the partner in her longest — and shortest — marriages.

There’s been speculation, but now I have confirmation: Angelina Jolie is heading to Comic-Con, I’ve been told.
Jolie is one of the very few actresses who opens action movies, and her latest, “Salt,” opens the Friday during the Con, which runs from Wednesday, July 21, to Sunday, July 25.

Columbia, which is releasing “Salt,” will be showing off its wares on Thursday and Friday, and “Salt” is being staged after the “Battle: Los Angeles” presentation Thursday.

Jolie will be on that stage.
The actress’ appearance has been speculated ever since it was known that the studio would make “Salt” part of their Hall H presentation. But the actress has been everywhere promoting the movie, and there’s no reason why she shouldn’t show up there to make one powerful impression on the people who eat action movies up.
