While India is home to many temples situated across the length and breadth of the country, Cambodia has a special temple named after Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie Temple is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It`s a 12th century site called Ta Prohm; it is otherwise known as Old Brahma and was initially named Rajavihara or the royal monastery. Now it`s popularly called the Angelina Jolie Temple.
Angkor Archaeological Park contains magnificent remains of over 1000 temples going back to ninth century, spread over about 400 square kilometers and receives about three million visitors annually. Its greatest of all Khmer monuments, mother of all temples and world’s largest religious building, Angkor Wat, which was constructed in about 30 years, is dedicated to Hindu deity Vishnu and is featured on Cambodia’s national flag.
