Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the spy film SALT, starring Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber, will be hitting shelves on December 21, 2010. The Blu-ray will be released in a deluxe edition which will include three versions of the film: theatrical, unrated and unrated extended version. The film stars Angelina Jolie as a CIA spy who is pursued by the government after she is accused of being a Russian double agent. SALT has some pretty decent action sequences and one really good chase scene, but overall I thought it was rather pedestrian. However, it is one you should see for yourself, especially since the role was originally written for Tom Cruise and they changed it for Angelina Jolie when he turned it down. There’s your little movie fact of the day. Special features for SALT will include: Commentaries:
Filmmakers’ commentary
Unrated filmmakers’ commentary
Unrated extended filmmakers’ commentary
Featurettes:
o The Ultimate Female Action Hero
o The Real Agents (BD-exclusive)
o Spy Disguise: The Looks of Evelyn Salt
o The Modern Master of the Political Thriller: Phillip Noyce (BD-exclusive)
o False Identity: Creating a New Reality (BD-exclusive)
* “The Treatment” Radio Interview with Phillip Noyce
* Spy Cam: Picture-in-Picture (BD-exclusive)
* SALT: Declassified (BD-exclusive)

Angelina Jolie enjoyed starring in action film “Salt” because it stopped her feeling “soft” after giving birth.
The actress was thrilled to get the chance to do her own stunts in the action movie – in which she plays a CIA agent trying to prove she is not a Russian spy – soon after giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne in July 2008 because it toughened her up.
Angelina said: “It was difficult to switch to being an action hero for a minute. But it was so nice to have an excuse to get out of bed and get back in action and not feel so soft with the pregnancy and all that comes with it after.”
Although the 35-year-old star was happy to throw herself into the character of on-the-run Evelyn Salt she did occasionally have times when she felt like she should be back at home.
Angelina – who filmed car chases, fight scenes and torture sequences for the movie – added: “I did have a moment where I found myself thinking, ‘I am somebody’s mom, I don’t belong here.’ I was on the freeway with somebody chasing me and two weeks before I was at home feeding the babies. I felt like, ‘Oh, they’ve got the wrong person.’ ”
In addition to Knox and Vivienne, Angelina has four other children, Maddox, eight, Zahara, five, Pax, six, and Shiloh, four, with her partner Brad Pitt.
The screen beauty has also revealed shooting “Salt” reminded her of the first time she met Brad, on the set of action film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
She said: “You know the great thing is he and I met during an action movie, so he’s kind of like, ‘Oh honey, you’re bruised again from a stunt.’ You know, it’s sweet, it’s reminiscent of the old days.”
Angelina Jolie says that Salt gave her an excuse to get out of bed after giving birth to her twins but she still felt a pang of guilt at times leaving her little ones at home.
The 35-year-old actress tells that after she gave birth to twins Knox and Vivienne, she needed to involve herself in an action flick like Salt as that drove away that feeling of ‘soft’ness.
Angelina said: “It was difficult to switch to being an action hero for a minute. But it was so nice to have an excuse to get out of bed and get back in action and not feel so soft with the pregnancy and all that comes with it after.”
But still at times, when she was shooting one or the other of those blood-chilling scenes, she felt that she did not belong there and should perhaps be at home feeding her newborns.
The mom in Angelina gushed- “I did have a moment where I found myself thinking, ‘I am somebody’s mom, I don’t belong here.’ I was on the freeway with somebody chasing me and two weeks before I was at home feeding the babies. I felt like, ‘Oh, they’ve got the wrong person.’ “
After all, it is no small task to handle a flourishing acting career and a bustling home made of six children and a superstar husband.
We always say Angelina Jolie is so gorgeous that she could wrap herself in a shower curtain and still look stunning.
Now here’s the proof at the Salt star’s U.K. premiere.
Leaving aside how much the fabric on this high-waisted Amanda Wakeley frock reminds us of bubble wrap, the shimmering pink highlights that play off the steely gray are lovely.
And while we’re pretty sure she didn’t pull a Scarlett O’Hara and yank down the drapes to make the dress, our only complaint would be that the gown does pull the blinds by covering her figure too much.
Considering the fabulous array of looks she’s unveiled all over the world, we aren’t going to complain too much about one less-than-stellar outfit, but let’s hope she’s got a few more premieres to hit so she can end the Salt sprint on a spicier note.
