A few years ago, Angelina joked to a producer that one day she wanted to be James Bond, and that same producer eventually asked her to play Salt, Evelyn Salt.

‘Salt’ finds Angelina as a CIA agent who is accused of being a KGB spy. She goes on the run in New York in an effort to clear her name — while government operatives believe she is attempting to assassinate the president.

Along the way, Angelina rolls over walls and clings to a speeding semi among her many stunts, and she says that trust is the most important thing you can have in your co-workers when you’re hanging off the side of a building!

“They can hang me off the side of a building or on a moving car or anything and I trust that I’m going to be safe, so I can just play,” she says.

“I got really lucky early in my career that I got offered roles where I could train for fighting,” explains the former ‘Lara Croft’ star. “And then I met … all these amazing stunt people who I’ve worked with for quite a few films, and so we’ve become kind of a family and they know the things I’m good at and they know the things that I complain about — but I end up getting through.”

“I got lots of bruises and things,” Angelina says about the occupational hazard of doing her own stunts. “I got a little teeny nick right in between my eyes. I went straight into a table while I was shooting somebody, jumping sideways, and felt really, really dumb,” she says with a laugh.

“And [I] just laid there with a big ice pack on my head and I was bleeding down my face… But then we used it. I got bloody in the movie anyway.”

In the film, Angelina stars as a CIA agent out to clear her name — and on the run in New York — after she’s accused of being a KGB spy. But despite her action-hero status, she says her children still just think of her as “mom.”

“They’re still my kids. They still think mom’s not that cool. If I do a somersault on a trampoline, they’re like, ‘Wow, mom…. You’re a mom.’”
